Professor Motor PMTR2100 Commercial Track Basic Electronic Slot Car Controller – XLR
Simple, durable electronic control for positive-polarity commercial, club and home analog tracks.
The Professor Motor PMTR2100 Commercial Track Basic is a straightforward wired analog transistor controller designed for commercial and club racing through approximately 16D, JK Falcon and Hawk 7 motors.
Built in the USA using Professor Motor's Platinum Series transistor technology, the PMTR2100 provides smooth, predictable throttle control across a broad range of common analog slot cars without requiring sensitivity or brake adjustments.
This makes it particularly useful as a house, club, rental or loaner controller: simply connect it and race.
This version is supplied with our preferred 3-pin XLR connector for fast, secure connection to OmniSlotBox systems and other XLR-equipped analog tracks.

Built for Commercial & Club Racing
The PMTR2100 is designed for positive-polarity commercial and club tracks using common moderate-power racing motors including:
- 16D motors
- JK Falcon motors
- Hawk 7 motors
- Similar moderate-current applications
It provides a simple fixed-response solution for racers and track owners who want dependable electronic control without the added complexity or cost of adjustable competition controllers.
A Wider "Sweet Spot" Than Traditional Resistor Controllers
One of the things we particularly like about Professor Motor transistor controllers is their broad usable response range.
Traditional resistor controllers, such as the classic Parma Turbo, depend heavily on matching controller resistance to the motor and track voltage. The right resistance can feel excellent, but change the motor or voltage and the same controller may suddenly feel too touchy or too sluggish.
The Professor Motor transistor design is much less dependent on that narrow resistance match. As a result, one controller can provide comfortable, progressive throttle control across a wider range of motor types and track voltages.
We think of this as having a wider "sweet spot." It doesn't mean every car will feel identical, but you're much less likely to need a different controller simply because you changed cars or motors.
That is especially useful in a commercial raceway, club or loaner fleet, where the same controller may be used with several different classes.
Direct Wired Analog Response
This is a wired analog controller, so throttle changes are applied directly through the track's analog power circuit without the command processing or wireless communication required by digital and wireless systems.
For racers who value immediate and predictable response, this direct connection remains one of the advantages of wired analog racing.
Fault-Tolerant Protection
The PMTR2100 incorporates a robust fault-tolerant circuit design intended to help protect the controller from overloads, short circuits and accidental connection problems.
This added protection is particularly valuable for commercial raceways, clubs, rental fleets and other situations where a controller may see frequent use by different drivers.
2-Wire Compatibility
The PMTR2100 is also fully functional in appropriate 2-wire non-brake applications.
This provides additional flexibility for track systems where a separate brake connection is not used.
Premium Contact System
The controller uses a low-friction silver-alloy wiper button running across an ultra-hard nickel-plated contact surface.
This combination provides smooth trigger operation, excellent conductivity and good wear resistance when properly maintained.
Heavy-Duty Construction
The PMTR2100 is built for regular track use with:
- High-impact polycarbonate handle
- Stainless-steel hardware
- Extra-long 13-gauge high-temperature silicone leads
- Silver-alloy wiper contact
- Nickel-plated contact surface
- Internal aluminum heat sink
XLR Connector & Other Connection Options
This controller is supplied with our preferred 3-pin XLR connector for a fast, secure connection to OmniSlotBox systems and other XLR-equipped tracks.
We also offer a separately listed version with traditional alligator clips.
For maximum versatility, keep the XLR connector and add one of our adapters, allowing the same controller to be used on tracks with different connection systems.
Connector installation services, adapters and controller ID sticker kits are listed separately in this category.
Handle Colors & Controller Identification
Our preferred stock configuration is the clear Professor Motor handle.
When supplied from our normal clear-handle inventory, we include a color/number controller ID sticker kit, making it easy to assign controllers to lanes or driver stations while keeping the controllers themselves interchangeable.
Professor Motor also offers molded handle colors including Clear, Red, Blue, Green, Yellow, Orange, Purple and Black, subject to current availability.
There is no additional charge for handle color. If you prefer a specific color, message us when ordering. If it is not in stock, additional lead time may apply.
Optional Power Relay Upgrade
The optional Professor Motor PMTR2037 Power Relay System provides a more direct, low-resistance power path at wide-open throttle.
This upgrade can be useful in applications where minimizing controller resistance at full power is desirable.
Care & Maintenance
Regular cleaning and light lubrication of the sliding contact system help maintain smooth trigger action and reliable electrical contact.
Follow Professor Motor's maintenance instructions for recommended cleaning and lubrication procedures.
