The Professor Motor HO & 1/32 Rental Controller is a straightforward transistor-based analog controller built for home tracks, clubs, commercial raceways, rental fleets and guest drivers.
It provides the smooth control and broad operating range of Professor Motor's Platinum Series transistor technology without the additional adjustments found on more expensive competition controllers.
We think of it as an excellent house controller: simple enough to hand to a first-time racer, durable enough for frequent shared use, and capable enough that experienced drivers can still enjoy using it.
This version is supplied with our preferred 3-pin XLR connector for fast, secure connection to OmniSlotBox systems and other XLR-equipped analog tracks.

Built to Be a House Controller
Not every controller needs a collection of adjustment knobs.
For a club, home track or commercial raceway, a house controller needs to be predictable, durable, easy to use and capable of surviving inexperienced hands.
The Professor Motor Rental model was designed with exactly that sort of service in mind. Its transistor electronics provide smooth control without requiring racers to understand sensitivity or brake adjustments before they can enjoy driving.
A Wider "Sweet Spot" Than Traditional Resistor Controllers
One of the things we particularly like about Professor Motor transistor controllers is their broad usable response range.
Traditional resistor controllers, such as the classic Parma Turbo, depend heavily on matching the controller's resistance to the motor and track voltage. The right resistance can feel excellent, but change the motor or voltage and the same controller may suddenly feel too touchy or too sluggish.
The Professor Motor transistor design is much less dependent on that narrow resistance match. As a result, one controller can provide comfortable, progressive throttle control across a wider range of motor types and track voltages.
We think of this as having a wider "sweet spot." It doesn't mean every car will feel identical, but you're much less likely to need a different controller simply because you changed cars, motors or track voltage.
This is particularly valuable for house, club and rental controllers, where the same controller may be used with many different cars during a race day.
Direct Wired Analog Response
This is a wired analog controller, so throttle changes are applied directly through the track's analog power circuit without the command processing or wireless communication required by digital and wireless control systems.
For racers who appreciate immediate and predictable response, this direct connection remains one of the advantages of wired analog racing.
Dual Circuit-Breaker Protection
Guest and rental controllers inevitably experience things that carefully maintained personal controllers don't.
This model incorporates a dual circuit-breaker protection system to provide additional robustness against accidental misconnection and electrical problems.
That makes it particularly attractive for club tracks, rental fleets, parties, introductory racing and installations where controllers will be used by many different drivers.
XLR Connector & Other Connection Options
This controller is supplied with our preferred 3-pin XLR connector for a fast, secure connection to OmniSlotBox systems and other XLR-equipped tracks.
We also offer a separately listed version with traditional alligator clips.
For maximum versatility, keep the XLR connector and add one of our adapters, allowing the same controller to be used on tracks with different connection systems.

Distinctive Rental Handles
Professor Motor differentiates its Rental controllers from standard retail models with distinctive two-color handles.
Handle color combinations are assorted and supplied according to current inventory. Specific combinations are not guaranteed.
The mixed-color handles also make these controllers easy to recognize as house or rental controllers when racers bring their own equipment to the track.
