A fast, flowing Carrera Digital raceway combining classic tri-oval speed with a technical infield, strategic lane changing and an extended pit lane.
The Digital Tri-Oval blends three sweeping 30-degree banked turns with multi-radius infield corners to create a circuit that rewards both outright speed and good racecraft.
With an approximately 83.6-foot lap in a 20.4' x 9.5' footprint , it provides a substantial home or club raceway without requiring the enormous space of many long-track designs.
Fast Outside, Technical Inside
The tri-oval sections allow cars to carry significant speed, while the infield changes the rhythm and gives the driver more opportunities to gain—or lose—time.
That combination makes the track more interesting than a conventional oval while retaining the sweeping banked turns and high-speed character that make tri-oval racing so much fun.

Digital Racing with Passing Opportunities
Six double lane-changing sections are positioned around the circuit to give drivers meaningful opportunities to change lanes and set up passes.
The long pit lane adds another strategic element for racers using Carrera Digital pit functions and compatible race-management software.
Rather than simply following two fixed lanes around the circuit, drivers must decide when changing lanes actually improves their position.
Excellent Visibility & Marshal Access
The open layout provides good sightlines across the circuit and keeps most track sections within practical reach for marshaling.
The generous central area also provides room for pit buildings, scenery, landscaping or other details without crowding the racing surface.

Power for a Large Digital Raceway
The included adjustable power supply and wiring system provide the stable power needed for a substantial Carrera Digital layout.
The Carrera Digital Control Unit remains the governing component for current capacity, so power should always be configured within the limits of the Carrera electronics and associated wiring.
OmniSlotBox Upgrade Compatible
The Digital Tri-Oval can also be incorporated into an OmniSlotBox analog/digital system .
With the appropriate OmniSlotBox equipment, the same Carrera track can support Carrera Digital racing as well as true analog racing with conventional analog cars and controllers.
Table & Installation
The track can be assembled on a flat surface, but a permanent or semi-permanent table is strongly recommended for a layout of this size.
Shaping the tabletop around the track rather than building a simple rectangle can improve marshal access, reduce unnecessary table area and make the entire installation easier to use.
Protective perimeter walls are recommended anywhere a car could leave the table. The open center and broad curves also make this layout particularly suitable for scenic construction and elevation changes.
Jim's Racer Perspective
This layout works because the fast sections and technical sections ask different things of the driver. You can enjoy the speed of the banked tri-oval, but you still have to get the car through the infield cleanly and choose your lane changes intelligently.
I also place a high value on sightlines and marshal access when designing a track. A layout can look wonderful on paper and still be frustrating to race if drivers cannot see the corners or marshals cannot reach a car. The open design of the Tri-Oval helps avoid those problems.
It delivers a lot of speed, strategy and lap length in a surprisingly manageable footprint.
