Ultra thin, narrow copper braid for slot cars using full-size commercial-style guide flags. 6 pair.
TQ braid is made from finely stranded silver-plated copper and has a thinner, narrower profile than many conventional guide braids. It provides excellent electrical pickup while helping reduce unnecessary friction between the braid and the track surface.
It is particularly useful on plastic track systems such as Carrera, Scaleauto and Policar. Because the braid is relatively narrow, more of it rides directly on the metal conductor rather than rubbing against the surrounding plastic track surface.
Why Racers Use TQ Braid
- Excellent Electrical Contact – Fine, flexible strands conform readily to the track rails for consistent current pickup with less arcing and wear.
- High Grade Fine copper – Provides excellent electrical conductivity and performance.
- Reduced Guide Drag – The thin, smooth braid helps minimize friction at the guide. Especially on plastic track, where excessive braid width can drag against the plastic beside the conductor rails.
- Allows Deeper Guide Position – The thinner braid can allow the guide flag to run deeper in the slot.
- Lower Front Ride Height – With proper chassis and guide adjustment, thinner braid can allow the front of the chassis to sit lower, which improves handling and stability.
- Flexible & Durable – Finely woven strands maintain good rail contact while standing up to repeated racing use.

Excellent Choice for Plastic Track
Although commercial-style braid is commonly associated with routed raceways, this thinner TQ braid can be especially advantageous when a full-size guide flag is used on plastic track.
On Carrera, Scaleauto, Policar and similar track systems, a wide or thick braid can extend beyond the conductor rail and rub on the plastic surface. The narrower TQ profile helps concentrate contact where it is needed—on the metal rail—reducing friction while maintaining dependable electrical pickup.
The thinner braid can also permit additional guide depth and, where chassis setup allows, a lower front ride height. Both can contribute to a more stable and better-handling slot car.
Package includes five matched pairs of guide braid.
