The JK Direct Drive is a serious 1/32 analog race car built around an exceptionally simple and efficient drivetrain. Instead of using a conventional pinion and spur gear, the motor directly drives the rear axle.

The result is an unusually smooth, quiet, and responsive drivetrain with fewer moving parts and virtually no conventional gear maintenance. Combined with a lightweight steel chassis and wide foam rear tires, the Direct Drive delivers impressive speed while rewarding a smooth, precise driving style.

Each car is supplied with the lightweight racing body shown in the photographs for that individual listing.

🏁 Why Direct Drive?

Removing the conventional gear train reduces drivetrain complexity and eliminates gear mesh as a tuning variable. Power delivery is immediate and exceptionally smooth, giving the car a very different feel from a traditional anglewinder or sidewinder chassis.

🔌 Track Compatibility

Designed for true analog operation and suitable for:

• Carrera Evolution and Exclusiv analog layouts
• OmniSlotBox-equipped Carrera tracks operating in analog mode

Important: The full-size commercial-style guide may require trimming or adjustment for some Carrera layouts. It is generally too deep for standard Scalextric track without modification.

⚡ Power Requirements

For serious racing, we recommend a regulated power supply with approximately 3 amps or more available per lane. These are high-performance analog cars and perform best with a power system capable of supplying adequate current without significant voltage drop.

🛞 Foam Tire Performance

The wide foam rear tires provide excellent mechanical grip without depending on strong magnetic downforce. Foam tires perform best on a clean, properly prepared racing surface. Track Honey or a similar foam-tire traction treatment can be used where appropriate for the track surface.

On our 60-foot Grand Prix Carrera layout, JK Direct Drive cars have run more than a full second per lap faster than the standard Carrera cars we use for comparison.

They also demand a different driving technique from the JK Cheetah anglewinders. The Direct Drive responds particularly well to smooth controller inputs, earlier braking, and carrying momentum through the corners. Once you adapt to the car, the combination of low weight, foam-tire grip, and the remarkably smooth drivetrain makes it a very satisfying car to race.
