TheTruSpeed MT Iis a high-performance wired analog slot car controller usingMOSFET Pulse Width Modulation (PWM)for smooth, efficient throttle control and excellent low-speed response.
Designed for positive-polarity analog tracks, the MT I combines adjustable sensitivity, transistorized braking with HOLD, a 36-step contact system, adjustable trigger tension and interchangeable trigger styles in a versatile controller suitable for a wide range of analog slot cars.
Important: The controller is supplied without a track connector.XLR, alligator clip and banana plug installation services are available separately, allowing you to select the connection appropriate for your track.

Why PWM Throttle Control?
A conventional resistor controller regulates car speed by placing resistance between the power supply and motor. The MT I instead usesPulse Width Modulation.
Rather than simply reducing voltage through a throttle resistor, PWM rapidly switches power to the motor and varies the proportion of time that power is applied as you move the trigger.
For the racer, this can provide:
- Smooth low-speed control through technical sections
- Strong motor response at partial throttle
- Efficient electronic power control
- Consistent response across a broad range of cars and motors
Adjustable Sensitivity & CURVE
The sensitivity control changes how aggressively the car responds to trigger movement, allowing you to tailor the controller to different motors, gearing, tires and track conditions.
TruSpeed'sCURVE functionworks with the sensitivity setting to provide a useful range of throttle-response characteristics.
An internal preset potentiometer on the contact board provides additional adjustment of the available sensitivity range, allowing the controller to be tailored to the types of cars you race most frequently.
Adjustable Transistor Braking
The rotary brake control allows you to adjust braking strength to suit the car, track and your driving technique.
The MT I also incorporates TruSpeed'sHOLD braking function, providing controlled brake behavior as the car slows.
This is particularly useful when moving between cars with different motors, gearing, tire grip and braking characteristics.
36-Step Contact System
The MT I uses a36-step wiper element with a 9-point contact systemto provide fine progression through the trigger range.
Combined with the MOSFET PWM electronics, this gives the driver precise control over power delivery from low-speed cornering through full throttle.
Adjustable Trigger Feel
Trigger return tension can be adjusted using the cam adjustment beneath the handle, allowing you to choose a lighter or firmer trigger feel.
The MT I includes bothsingle-finger and double-finger triggers. They are designed to be easily changed by the user so you can select the configuration that feels most natural.
Built-In Protection
Anauto-resetting PTC protection devicehelps protect the controller against excessive current, while a diagnostic LED provides useful power and operating-status information.
The MT I is rated at approximately12 amps peak and 5 amps continuous. Motors and racing applications should remain within the manufacturer's electrical limits.
Positive-Polarity Wiring
The MT I is designed forpositive-polarity analog tracks.
- Brown (White)– Power from supply
- Blue (Black)– Controller output to track
- Green (Red)– Brake / Negative
Always verify track polarity and wiring before connecting an electronic controller to an unfamiliar track.
Track Connector Not Included
The MT I is suppliedwithout a track connector. This allows you to select the connection appropriate for your track rather than paying for a connector you don't need.

Our Preferred XLR Connection
For OmniSlotBox installations, we prefer3-pin XLRbecause it provides a fast, secure and repeatable controller connection.
Our OmniSlotBox XLR wiring standard is:
- Pin 1 – Black
- Pin 2 – White
- Pin 3 – Red
XLR wiring is not universal. Racers using other XLR-equipped tracks should verify the track pinout before connecting the controller.

BP II or MT I?
Choose the BP IIif you want a straightforward transistor controller with adjustable sensitivity and braking.
Choose the MT Iif you want to step up to MOSFET PWM throttle control while retaining adjustable sensitivity, electronic braking and TruSpeed's highly adjustable trigger system.
The MT I is the stronger choice for racers who want greater control over a wide variety of cars while retaining a controller that remains straightforward to understand and adjust.
Routine Care
The MT I requires little routine maintenance. If trigger movement becomes scratchy or the contact area requires cleaning, follow TruSpeed's recommended cleaning procedure.
Avoid sharp bends where the cable exits the controller handle. Loosely coiling the cable for storage helps reduce wire fatigue and prolong cable life.

The MT I offers the kind of adjustability I value in an analog controller:enough range to accommodate substantially different cars without adding controls simply for the sake of having more knobs.
The combination of PWM throttle control, adjustable sensitivity and braking is particularly useful if your race box contains cars with very different motor and handling characteristics.
For a racer moving beyond a basic controller and wanting a versatile PWM controller that can grow with their racing, the MT I is an excellent choice.
