One Advanced Controller for Positive or Negative Polarity Tracks
TheTruSpeed MT II Dual Polaritycombines the sophisticated controls of the MT II with the ability to operate oneither positive- or negative-polarity analog tracks.
The controller automatically senses track polarity and adapts accordingly. This makes it particularly useful for racers who travel between home, club, and commercial tracks where wiring standards may differ—and provides excellent protection against damage caused by an incorrect hookup.
The Dual Polarity MT II retains the MT II's PWM throttle control, adjustable braking and coasting, acceleration and sensitivity controls, Launch button, adjustable trigger feel, and V.10 Contact Board.

Automatic Dual-Polarity Operation
Analog slot car tracks can be wired for eitherpositive or negative controller polarity. Positive polarity is now common on club and commercial tracks, while negative polarity can still be encountered on older commercial installations, home tracks, and other layouts.
The MT II Dual Polarity eliminates much of the concern about which wiring standard you're encountering. Its electronics automatically detect the polarity and configure the controller accordingly.
For racers who travel between different tracks, that's a significant advantage:one controller can accommodate either polarity without manually changing its configuration.
Current Capacity – Important
The Dual Polarity MT II is rated for8 amps peak and 3 amps continuous.
If the current limit is exceeded, the controller's protection circuitry may temporarily shut it down to protect the electronics.
It is an excellent choice forplastic-chassis cars and sealed-motor racing, but it isnot our recommended MT II for high-current commercial-track motors such as Super 16D and above.
If you need greater current capacity and race exclusively on the appropriate polarity, choose the standardTruSpeed MT II High-Current, rated at 12A peak / 6A continuous.
MOSFET PWM Throttle Control
The MT II usesPulse Width Modulation (PWM)to regulate motor power. Instead of controlling speed by dissipating substantial power through a conventional resistor, PWM rapidly switches power to the motor and varies the duration of those pulses according to trigger position.
This provides smooth acceleration, precise low-speed control, good low-speed torque, and efficient operation with less wasted energy as heat.
V.10 Contact Board
The suppliedV.10 Contact Boarduses a 36-step wiper element with nine-point stainless-steel wipers for smooth, progressive control.
The board supports multiple response modes, allowing the controller's trigger characteristics to be configured for different cars and driving preferences.
Brake, Coast & Acceleration Control
The MT II provides more than simple throttle and brake adjustment. ItsBrake / Coast controlallows you to tailor what happens when you release the trigger.
The coasting function is particularly useful with cars that naturally slow very quickly even when little or no conventional braking is applied.
Acceleration and sensitivity controls provide additional adjustment over how aggressively the car responds as power is applied.
Launch Button
TheLaunch buttonprovides immediate full-power operation, useful for fast starts and applications such as drag racing.
Adjustable Trigger Feel
Trigger return spring tension can be adjusted to suit your preference. Bothsingle-finger and double-finger triggersare included and can be changed by the user.
Choose Your Connector
The controller is supplied without a track connector.
We offer professional installation ofXLR connectors, OmniSlotBox copper alligator clips, and 24K gold-plated banana plugsseparately. Add the connector installation you want to your order and we'll install it before shipping the controller.
For compatibleOmniSlotBoxinstallations, we recommend XLR for its fast, secure connection and protection against incorrect hookups.

Dual Polarity or High-Current MT II?
Choose the MT II Dual Polarityif you race on different tracks and value automatic positive/negative polarity compatibility and additional protection against incorrect connections.
Choose the standard MT II High-Currentif you need the greater 12A peak / 6A continuous capacity for more demanding motors and your track polarity is known and compatible.
For most plastic-chassis and sealed-motor racing, the Dual Polarity model provides plenty of capacity while adding a particularly useful benefit for the traveling racer:you don't have to worry about which polarity is waiting for you at the next track.
