🛞 Understanding the Hub Size

The 0.600" measurement refers to the outside diameter of the plastic hub underneath the foam, not the axle size. Hub diameter affects the amount of foam between the wheel and track surface and is useful when comparing different JK tire constructions.

🏁 Natural Rubber Performance

Natural Rubber is the highest-grip of the three foam tire compounds we commonly offer. It is an excellent choice when maximum traction is the priority, but it generally wears faster and is more prone to drying out than harder compounds.

🛞 Foam Tire Compounds & Care

We offer three common foam tire compounds, each with a different balance of grip, wear, and storage life:

• Wonder Rubber: The most durable compound, offering the longest wear and the best resistance to drying out.
• Treated Rubber: A good middle-ground compound with more grip than Wonder Rubber and moderate wear.
• Natural Rubber: Typically offers the highest grip, but also wears faster and is more prone to drying out.

Treated and Natural Rubber tires should be stored in a sealed container or plastic bag when not in use. An easy shortcut is to store the entire car in a resealable plastic bag rather than removing the wheels after every race session.

Treated and Natural Rubber foam tires can also benefit from occasional conditioning. A very light application of Noxzema, a similar skin cream, or a foam-tire conditioner such as Frog Spit can help keep the rubber from drying out and may restore some softness and grip.

Apply conditioners sparingly and wipe away any excess before running the car.

Track conditions matter. Foam tires generally perform best on a clean racing surface with some compatible traction treatment. They are not recommended for very dry or dusty tracks, where foam tires can lose grip quickly and collect debris.
