30-Band Electronic Throttle
The Genesis HD30 uses DiFalco's precision 30-band electronic throttle to provide fine, predictable power progression throughout the trigger range.
The electronic design gives the driver substantially more flexibility than a conventional fixed-resistance controller, allowing the DD304 to be adapted to differences in motors, chassis, tires, traction, track conditions and driving style.
290-Ohm Interchangeable Resistor Network
The DD304 is supplied with a 290-ohm plug-in resistor network suited to a broad range of 1/32 analog slot car motors.
Unlike a conventional controller with a permanently fixed resistance range, the Genesis uses interchangeable resistor network boards. Optional networks are available separately, allowing the controller's basic response range to be changed for different motors and racing applications.
Adjustable Sensitivity
The sensitivity control allows you to change how quickly the car responds to trigger movement.
Use it to soften the response of a powerful or difficult-to-drive car, increase response when more immediate power is desirable, or simply tailor the controller to your preferred driving style.
Adjustable Traction Control
DiFalco's Traction Control regulates power delivery while the trigger is below full throttle.
Reducing partial-throttle output can make it easier to feed power into the car when exiting a corner without overpowering the tires. This can be particularly useful in non-magnet racing, with powerful motors or whenever track grip is limited.
At full trigger position, Traction Control is bypassed so full available track power can be delivered to the car.
25-Ohm Adjustable Braking
The 25-ohm brake rheostat provides a wide range of braking adjustment, allowing braking characteristics to be matched to the car, track layout, traction level and driver's preference.
E.S.P. – Extreme Stopping Power Brake Relay
A major feature of the Genesis DD304 is DiFalco's E.S.P. (Extreme Stopping Power) brake relay.
When full braking is selected, the E.S.P. system provides a short, low-resistance electrical path rather than depending entirely on the conventional trigger-to-brake-post circuit.
The relay is located with the remote power module near the track connection and is electronically activated from the controller. This reduces resistance in the full-brake circuit and provides fast, consistent braking response.
E.S.P. can be switched as required, allowing the driver to combine adjustable braking with a maximum-braking option.
Blast Full-Power Relay
At full throttle, DiFalco's Blast Relay provides a direct high-current power path designed to minimize resistance and voltage loss through the controller.
The result is maximum available power delivery when the trigger reaches full throttle.
Lightweight Genesis Handle & Remote Power Module
The Genesis uses a two-piece architecture that relocates the substantial heat sink and power electronics from the controller handle to a remote trackside module.
A flexible cable connects the controller to the power module, reducing weight in the driver's hand while keeping the high-current components close to the track connection.
This provides a lighter, better-balanced controller without sacrificing the substantial power-handling hardware of the Genesis design.
Precision Ball-Bearing Trigger
The precision ball-bearing trigger provides smooth movement with reduced friction and side play while helping maintain consistent wiper-button contact with the controller bands.
The result is a smooth, predictable trigger feel particularly appreciated during longer racing sessions.
Heavy-Duty Power Delivery
The Genesis is engineered to minimize unnecessary resistance throughout its high-current power path.
Construction includes a floating power contact, heavy-duty electronic components, substantial internal wiring, 10 AWG stranded copper track leads, the remote heat sink and the Blast full-power relay.
Built-In Circuit Protection
The Genesis incorporates protection for both the brake and transistor circuits, helping protect the controller electronics from electrical faults and overloads.
Premium, Serviceable Construction
DiFalco Genesis controllers use a routed fiberglass frame, stainless-steel hardware, heavy-duty wiring and a nickel-plated circuit board designed to resist corrosion.
The electronic wiper system carries relatively little motor current through the trigger contacts compared with a conventional resistor controller. This greatly reduces contact arcing and wear.
The open-frame construction also makes routine inspection and cleaning straightforward, and many components can be serviced or replaced rather than requiring replacement of the entire controller.
Positive Polarity
The Genesis DD304 HD30 is designed for positive-polarity analog slot car tracks only.
Positive polarity is now common on modern commercial, club, home and OmniSlotBox installations.
If you're uncertain about your track polarity, message us before ordering and we'll help determine compatibility.
Alligator Clips & Other Connection Options
This controller is supplied with traditional color-coded alligator clips for connection to compatible commercial, club and home track terminals.
DiFalco controllers can also be supplied with other connector types. If you prefer our 3-pin XLR connector, banana plugs or another connection, message us before ordering or select the appropriate connector option. You can also have it both ways with one of our separately available adapters.
Handle Colors & Special Orders
Handle color varies according to current inventory. We normally ship an available color so your controller can be supplied without unnecessary delay.
If you want a particular handle color, message us before ordering. A controller can be built specifically for your order by DiFalco Design when the requested color is available. Additional lead time may be required.
Availability
DiFalco controllers are individually hand-built in relatively small quantities. We stock popular models whenever possible, but demand can occasionally exceed available inventory.
If a controller must be built to order, typical lead time may be approximately 3–4 weeks.
