JK Cheetah 1/32 Anglewinder
High-Performance Analog Slot Car by OmniSlotBox
Take your racing experience to the next level with the JK Cheetah 1/32 Anglewinder. This high-performance analog slot car combines a precision steel chassis, powerful Falcon motor, and smooth 64-pitch anglewinder gearing to deliver serious speed and responsive handling.
Whether you're racing on a routed wood track or running an analog Carrera layout equipped with OmniSlotBox, the JK Cheetah is built for fast, consistent laps.
🏁 Performance That Speaks for Itself
On our 60-foot Grand Prix track, typical Carrera cars average approximately 4.5 seconds per lap. JK Cheetahs can run more than a full second quicker per lap—all without relying on magnets for grip.
The performance comes from a lightweight chassis, low center of gravity, wide foam rear tires, and a drivetrain designed for competitive analog racing.
🏁 Exclusive OmniSlotBox Race Prep & Custom Tuning
Every JK Cheetah anglewinder we sell is personally race-prepped by Jim Cunningham before shipment. These cars are excellent performers straight from JK, but our preparation addresses several details we have found can improve speed, consistency and durability—especially on plastic track systems such as Carrera.
Thin, Narrow Guide Braid
We replace the thick, wide factory braid with a finer, narrower braid. On these cars, the front ride height is carried primarily by the guide and braid rather than by the front wheels, so braid thickness and width directly affect how the car sits and how freely the guide runs.
- Less friction on plastic track: Wide braid can extend beyond the metal conductor rails and rub on the surrounding plastic. Narrow braid keeps more of the contact where it belongs—on the rails.
- More consistent electrical pickup: Fine braid conforms closely to the conductor surface instead of developing a worn strip only where the rail touches it.
- Deeper guide position: Thinner braid allows the guide to sit farther into the slot.
- Lower chassis position: Because the guide carries the front of the car, reducing braid thickness can lower the front ride height and center of gravity.
Together, these changes reduce unnecessary drag and help the car run more smoothly and consistently.
Chassis Wear Indicator & Protection
We apply the yellow wear tape at the low point of the chassis. As the foam rear tires wear and the chassis moves closer to the rails, the tape provides an easy visual warning and helps insulate the chassis from accidental rail contact and arcing.
Rear Body Trim
We trim excess rear body overhang for a cleaner, more purposeful appearance and to eliminate unnecessary material behind the rear tires. More importantly, this reduces the common tendency for the lightweight body to tuck over a rear tire during a crash, which can bind the tire and stop the car.
“Bullet-Proofed” Rear Axle Setup
On some recent Cheetahs, the left rear wheel has been positioned farther outward to clear the pinion gear and motor shaft. With little or no spacing behind the wheel hub, even a modest wall impact can push the wheel inward. The tire can then contact the pinion or motor shaft, causing drag, binding or tire damage.
We correct this before the car leaves our shop by moving the pinion farther inboard where needed, trimming excess motor shaft, adding proper axle spacers, and setting wheel position and side play so the rear assembly runs freely and stays where it belongs.
The result is not simply a stock JK car taken out of the box. It is a Cheetah that has been inspected, adjusted and race-prepped at OmniSlotBox using what we have learned from running these cars on our own tracks.
🔧 Design & Construction
- Chassis: Durable multi-part steel anglewinder chassis with an ultra-low center of gravity
- Motor: Lightweight, high-revving Falcon motor
- Gearing: Smooth 64-pitch anglewinder gearing for strong acceleration and precise braking
- Weight: Approximately 90 grams, compared with roughly 130 grams for a typical stock Carrera car
- Downforce: Minimal magnetic assistance—handling comes primarily from chassis balance and mechanical grip
🛞 Wheels & Tire Technology
Rear:
- Hybrid aluminum/carbon set-screw wheel hubs
- High-grip foam rear tires
- Asymmetric tire and wheel design helps maximize the usable contact patch
- Yellow chassis wear tape helps indicate potential rail contact as rear tires wear
Front:
- Ultra-lightweight front wheel setup
- Designed for minimal drag and reduced front-end resistance
- Some lightweight racing bodies use molded or decal-style front-wheel detailing
🎨 Lightweight Racing Body
Each car is fitted with a lightweight vacuum-formed racing body designed to keep overall weight low and performance high.
- Painted and clear replacement bodies are available separately
- Body styles and liveries vary by listing
- Some designs emphasize aerodynamic performance rather than exact scale detail
🔌 Track Compatibility
- Compatible with Carrera Evolution and Exclusiv analog track
- Works with routed wood tracks
- Ideal for OmniSlotBox-equipped Carrera layouts operating in analog mode
- Includes narrow braid for Carrera track and wide braid for wood or commercial-style tracks
⚡ Power Requirements
For best performance, we recommend a power supply capable of delivering at least 3 amps per lane. Standard Carrera power supplies are not designed for the current demands of this type of high-performance analog slot car.
🏆 CARS Club Legal – Race Ready
This car meets the specifications for the CARS Club Racing Series and arrives fully assembled and ready to run.
Whether you're racing competitively or simply want a much faster analog car for your home layout, the JK Cheetah offers a major step up from conventional RTR slot cars.
💡 Pro Tip
For best grip, use Track Honey or a similar foam-tire traction treatment on an appropriately prepared racing surface. Foam tires perform best on a clean track and can lose traction when the surface becomes dry or dusty.
