True Analog Performance
The JK Cheetah is very different from a conventional magnet-equipped home-set slot car. Its lightweight steel chassis, Falcon 7 motor and foam tires provide substantially higher performance while allowing the car to move and drift progressively as it approaches the limit.
There is no traction magnet holding the chassis to the rails. Cornering performance comes from tire grip, chassis balance and driving technique.
Track Compatibility
This car is designed for true analog racing and is particularly well suited to:
- Routed commercial wood raceways
- Carrera Evolution and other suitable analog Carrera layouts
- OmniSlotBox systems operating in true analog mode
The full-size commercial racing guide is deeper than the guides normally used on many home-set cars. On some Carrera installations, slight trimming of the guide blade may be required to prevent it from bottoming in the slot.
Standard Scalextric track is generally too shallow for this guide without modification.
Power Requirements
The Falcon 7 performs best with a regulated power supply capable of providing adequate current. For serious analog racing, we recommend approximately 3 amps or more available per lane . Standard home-set power supplies may not provide the same performance under load.

Jim's Racer Perspective
We have raced JK Cheetah anglewinders extensively. On our 60-foot Grand Prix Carrera layout, properly prepared Cheetah anglewinders have run more than a second per lap faster than the standard Carrera cars we use for comparison.
What I particularly like about the anglewinder is the way it drives. Without a traction magnet, the car begins to drift progressively as it approaches the limit. I find that makes it predictable and rewarding to drive, and in our racing we have generally seen fewer abrupt crashes than with cars that rely heavily on magnetic downforce.
The Falcon 7 provides good torque and braking, while the lightweight chassis and wide foam tires make the car very quick without making it complicated to maintain.
On our Carrera track, we use a light application of suitable traction treatment such as Track Honey to produce consistent foam-tire grip.
Please review the photographs carefully. The Mazda Dyson body and yellow, white and black flame paint scheme shown are the ones supplied with this individual car.
