A flowing analog slot car raceway designed to fit a compact 5' x 10' table while providing enough room for both 1/32 and 1/24 scale racing.
The Cactus Analog Raceway combines curves of varying radii with generous shoulders to create a layout that is easy to learn but still rewards good driving. Its compact footprint makes it practical for a home race room, garage or clubhouse without reducing the track to a simple oval.
It is particularly well suited to no-magnet racing , where the wide shoulders give cars room to drift naturally through the corners.
Designed for 1/32 & 1/24 Scale Cars
Many compact layouts work well with 1/32 cars but become cramped when wider 1/24 cars are used. Cactus Raceway was designed with full-width shoulders so larger cars have room to slide without immediately falling from the track.
That makes it a versatile layout for racers who want to enjoy both scales on the same home track.
Why Cactus Raceway Works
- Compact 5' x 10' Footprint – substantial racing in a manageable space
- 1/32 & 1/24 Compatible – designed with larger cars in mind
- Full-Width Shoulders – room for natural drift and no-magnet racing
- Varied Corner Radii – creates rhythm instead of a repetitive driving pattern
- Good Sightlines – racers can see the important sections of the course
- Easy Marshal Access – practical for casual racing and organized events
- Analog Racing – ideal for conventional analog cars and controllers

These additional components are sold separately unless specifically stated as included with the track package.
Table & Installation
The layout occupies approximately a 5' x 10' table footprint . While sectional track can be assembled temporarily, we recommend a permanent or semi-permanent tabletop installation for the best racing experience.
A table shaped around the track can improve marshal access and reduce unnecessary floor space. Protective perimeter walls are also recommended where cars could otherwise leave the table.
The layout can also serve as the starting point for a scenic build with terrain, barriers, buildings and elevation changes.
No-Magnet Racing
Cactus Raceway is especially enjoyable with properly prepared no-magnet cars. Instead of depending on magnetic downforce to keep the car planted, the driver can balance throttle, braking and controlled drift through the corners.
The generous shoulders allow that style of driving without punishing every small slide with an immediate deslot.
Jim's Racer Perspective
I designed the Cactus Raceway around three priorities: flow, visibility and useful racing space .
A good home layout should be entertaining with more than one kind of car. Cactus has enough room for full-size 1/24 cars while still being lively with 1/32 racers, and the shoulders make it particularly satisfying for the no-magnet racing I prefer.
It is a lot of analog raceway for a 5' x 10' footprint.
