Smooth transistor control with adjustable sensitivity, response curve and braking—without unnecessary complexity.
TheTruSpeed BP IIis an adjustable transistor-based analog slot car controller for racers who want more control than a conventional resistor controller while retaining a straightforward, easy-to-understand design.
Adjustable sensitivity, TruSpeed's CURVE feature, adjustable transistor braking with HOLD, adjustable trigger tension and two interchangeable trigger styles give you useful ways to tailor the controller to different cars, tracks and driving preferences.
Important: This controller is supplied without a track connector.XLR, alligator clip and banana plug installation services are available separately, allowing you to select the connection appropriate for your track.
Key Features
- Transistor Speed Control– Smooth, progressive throttle response
- Adjustable Sensitivity– Tailor throttle response to different cars, motors and driving styles
- CURVE Feature– Works with sensitivity adjustment to provide a useful range of throttle characteristics
- Internal Sensitivity Preset– Provides additional adjustment of the available sensitivity range
- Adjustable Transistor Braking– Tune braking strength for the car and track
- HOLD Braking Function– TruSpeed's electronic braking system manages brake behavior as the car slows
- Adjustable Trigger Tension– Set trigger return pressure to your preference
- Two Trigger Styles– Single-finger and double-finger triggers included
- Tool-Free Trigger Changes– Trigger styles clip into place
- Color-Coded Identification– Eight colored labels included
- Positive Polarity– Designed for positive-polarity analog tracks
Adjustable Throttle Response
The BP II uses transistor electronics to progressively regulate power to the car as the trigger is pulled.
Thesensitivity controlchanges how aggressively the car responds to trigger movement, while TruSpeed'sCURVE featureworks with sensitivity to provide a range of throttle-response characteristics.
This is particularly useful when changing between cars with different motors, gearing, tires or overall performance.
An internal preset potentiometer provides additional adjustment of the sensitivity range, allowing the controller to be tailored to the types of cars you race most frequently.
Adjustable Braking with HOLD
The rotary brake control allows you to adjust braking strength to suit the car, track and your driving style.
The BP II also incorporates TruSpeed'sHOLD braking function, which manages brake behavior as the car slows.
Together, these controls allow you to balance corner-entry braking with the throttle response you prefer coming back onto the power.
Adjustable Trigger Feel
Trigger return spring tension can be adjusted to suit your preference.
The BP II also includes bothsingle-finger and double-finger triggers. The triggers clip into place without tools, allowing you to choose the style that feels most natural.
Positive-Polarity Wiring
The BP II is designed forpositive-polarity analog track wiring.
- Brown (White)– Power from supply
- Blue (Black)– Controller output to track
- Green/Yellow (Red)– Brake
The controller also provides a polarity indication:
- Blue LED– Correct positive polarity
- Red LED– Negative polarity detected
Always verify track wiring and polarity before connecting an electronic controller to an unfamiliar track.
Track Connector Not Included
The BP II is suppliedwithout a track connector. This allows you to select the connection system you actually need rather than paying for a connector that may not suit your track.
We offer separate professional connector installation services for:
- 3-Pin XLR
- Alligator Clips
- Banana Plugs
Purchase the appropriate installation service with the controller if you would like us to prepare it for your track before shipping.
Our Preferred XLR Connection
For OmniSlotBox installations, we prefer3-pin XLRbecause it provides a fast, secure and repeatable controller connection.
When we install XLR, our OmniSlotBox wiring standard is:
- Pin 1 – Black
- Pin 2 – White
- Pin 3 – Red
XLR wiring is not universal, so racers using other XLR-equipped tracks should verify the track pinout before connecting the controller.
What's Included
- TruSpeed BP II analog controller
- Single-finger trigger
- Double-finger trigger
- Eight color-coded identification labels
- Quick-start documentation
Track connector is not included.
BP II or MT I?
Choose the BP IIif you want a straightforward transistor controller with adjustable sensitivity, response curve and braking.
Consider the TruSpeed MT Iif you want MOSFET PWM throttle control and the additional characteristics of TruSpeed's higher-performance electronics.
Both offer substantially more tuning flexibility than a conventional fixed-resistance controller, but the BP II is particularly appealing to racers who want useful adjustments without unnecessary complexity.
Jim's Racer Perspective
A controller doesn't become better simply because it has more knobs.
The BP II provides adjustments that actually matter to most racers:throttle sensitivity, response curve, braking and trigger feel. That makes it a logical step up from a basic resistor controller without requiring the driver to learn a complicated control panel.
I particularly like controllers in this category for racers beginning to experiment with different cars and motors. Instead of changing controllers to find the right response, you can begin tailoring the controller to the car and your driving style.
Smooth transistor control, useful adjustments and a straightforward design make the BP II a very capable analog racing controller.
